What is IPTC?

IPTC-IIM (Information Interchange Model) is a metadata standard used by news agencies (AP, Reuters, Getty) to embed caption, photographer credit, copyright, and location information into images. It lives in the JPEG APP13 segment and is separate from EXIF.

Why it's private

IPTC parsing and writing uses the File API and ArrayBuffer in your browser. Your image is never sent to a server.
