How to interpret the results
Random noise (uniform grey static): No detectable hidden data — the LSB planes look like white noise, which is normal for natural images and most AI images.
Visible patterns or structures: May indicate steganographic embedding. The pattern will often match the outline of a message, another image, or repeated blocks.
Note: JPEG compression randomises LSBs, so JPEG images almost always look like noise. PNG images (lossless) are better candidates for LSB steganography.
How to use this tool
- Upload an image (PNG gives clearest results; JPEG will show mostly noise due to compression).
- Choose how many LSB planes to extract.
- The tool shows each colour channel's LSB plane. Look for structure vs. noise.
